She finds it incredibly rewarding to ease fears, build trust, and help little ones feel safe and confident in the dental chair.

Every smile, giggle, and high-five reminds her of why she chose this path—to serve, connect, and make each visit feel like a win for both the child and their family. We invite you to learn more about Dr. Jackson below.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Jackson knew she wanted to become a dentist ever since she was four years old. Her pediatric dentist made such a lasting impression on her and helped her see that dentistry could be both healing and joyful. Those early childhood experiences planted a seed that grew into a lifelong calling to offer the same comfort to others.

As Dr. Jackson moved through dental school, that small seed grew incredibly deep roots as she began to understand how powerful oral health can be to her patients’ overall health as well as their confidence. Today, she likes to think of pediatric dentists as superheroes that use compassion and connection to make every visit count!

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Jackson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Fisk University and went on to attend Meharry Medical College, where she earned her Master of Health Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery. Following her education, she completed her pediatric dental residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she also earned her Master of Oral Sciences and Master of Public Health degrees.

Throughout her training, she received extensive hands-on education treating a diverse patient population, including those with special healthcare needs and complex medical histories. She has also remained committed to serving others by providing local schools and underserved communities with caries prevention education and free dental screenings.

Dr. Jackson is committed to never stop learning and always staying up to date with the latest advancements in her field, which is why she regularly completes continuing education courses hosted by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Chicago Dental Society, and Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists. She also remains an active member of these organizations, as well as the American Dental Association.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Originally from Tyrone, Georgia, Dr. Jackson comes from a small, lively family that keeps her life interesting and full of love. Since moving to Chicago, her wonderful church community has truly become her home away from home, filling her life with friendship, support, and more than a few good potlucks!

Whenever Dr. Jackson isn’t caring for tiny teeth, she enjoys reading, hosting her podcast, and staying active in her church community. She also enjoys exploring Chicago’s vibrant food scene, especially if sushi or ramen is involved, and sometimes trying to recreate recipes at home. Dr. Jackson is also a proud “plant mom” to nearly 20 leafy houseplants and fully embraces giving unsolicited (and solicited!) plant advice.

An interesting fact about Dr. Jackson is that she’s on a mission to visit all 50 states (she’s been to 28 so far!) and collect a keychain from each place that she travels!
